	Friday, February 17, 2012 12:25:50 PM NEWS ALERT Senate passes payroll-tax cut extension The Senate passed by a vote of 60 to 36 a $150 billion economic package extending a payroll tax holiday for 160 million workers and extending unemployment benefits for the rest of the year. Having passed the House earlier Friday, the legislation now goes to President Obama's desk for his signature, giving him a victory on a portion of the massive jobs bill he presented to Congress last fall.
