Economy adds 103,000 jobs in September, unemployment rate unchanged at 9.1 percent


The nation's unemployment rate held steady in September at 9.1 percent, according to a Labor Department report released Friday morning. The report also showed that the economy added 103,000 jobs, a figure that exceeded analyst expectations and showed improvement from the previous month, when there was zero net job creation.
