Amazon introduces Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Paperwhite

Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos introduced an 8.9-inch Kindle Fire called the Kindle Fire HD Thursday at a press event in California. The device, which has a screen that cuts down on glare, will cost $299.

Bezos also announced the Kindle Paperwhite, a new e-reader that comes with a lighted display and is supposed to have much better screen contrast than previous Kindles.
