Men in wheelchairs: Gun violence survivors bond over a shared struggle
Every Tuesday afternoon at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Northwest Washington gathers a group of men who know firsthand the toll of gun violence. Most of them are in wheelchairs as a result of gunshot wounds. Dr. Suzanne Groah, the director of spinal cord research at the hospital, can speak to the struggles, both medical and social, this population faces.
