Web site goes down after feds seize Megaupload; Anonymous claims credit Portions of the Justice Department Web site became inoperable Thursday just hours after federal officials seized and shut down the file-sharing Web site Megaupload.com and arrested several of its executives on charges of violating piracy laws. Anonymous, a group of Internet hackers, claimed responsibility for the attack via Twitter. The Justice Department said in a statement said that Kim Dotcom, formerly known as Kim Schmitz, and three other executives of Megaupload.com were arrested Thursday in New Zealand at the request of U.S. officials.
