Wednesday, February 13, 2013 6:58:02 AM Local Commuter Alert Pedestrian collision closes westbound lanes of New York Avenue NE at Kendall Street Westbound New York Avenue NE heading into downtown D.C. is closed at Kendall Street following a pedestrian collision Wednesday morning. Police said the pedestrian was struck by a car in the 1300 block of New York Avenue in Northeast Washington around 5:30 a.m. The closure was expected to be temporary, but officials said delays would likely continue throughout the morning rush. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
